Shimla – Situated at an altitude of approx. 6500 ft above sea level, is the capital of the North Indian State of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla was the former official summer capital of the Government of India right up until 1947, when India gained Independence. Shimla was originally a small hill village named after the goddess Shamla Devi, a manifestation of Kali. Discovered by the British in 1819, it became a popular refuge from the heat of the plains of North India.

Description

Day 01:

Arrive Chandigarh – Shimla

Arrive Chandigarh airport/ railway station.  Pick up and travel to Shimla by surface, the former summer capital of British India and now capital of Himachal Pradesh. Set amidst the snow capped Shivalik mountain ranges it offers some stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. Upon arrival check in at your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 02:

In Shimla – AM: Kufri excursion

After breakfast proceed for excursion tour of Kufri, a popular ski resort in winters, which offers some stunning mountain views. Visit Indira Tourist Park at Chini Bunglow & Himalayan Wildlife Zoo. Afternoon return back to Shimla and proceed for half day sightseeing tour of ‘City beautiful’ covering Jakhoo temple, Himachal State Museum & Library and Indian Institute of Advance studies (IIAS). Evening visit to Christ Church, Scandal Corner, Mall road & Ridge. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 03:

Shimla- Manali (260 Kms / 7-8 hrs)

After breakfast proceed for excursion tour of Kufri, a popular ski resort in winters, which offers some stunning mountain views. Visit Indira Tourist Park at Chini Bunglow & Himalayan Wildlife Zoo. Afternoon return back to Shimla and proceed for half day sightseeing tour of ‘City beautiful’ covering Jakhoo temple, Himachal State Museum & Library and Indian Institute of Advance studies (IIAS). Day 04:

In Manali – Rohtang

Morning proceed to visit the Rohtang pass (Up to Snow line during winter/due to heavy snowfall), which simply offers panoramic view of mountains rising far above the clouds. Afternoon visit Solang valley (a famous picnic spot & ski resort in winter). Enjoy Skiing, Snowboarding (in Winters), Rope way ride and Paragliding (at your own/ extra cost). Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 05:

AM – Naggar excursion

Morning, after breakfast proceed to visit the Naggar Castle and Roriech art Gallery. Afternoon return back to Manali and visit the 450 years old Hadimba Devi Temple, the oldest temple in Manali, Club House, Tibetan monastery and  Vashisht village, known for its hot Sulpher springs. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 06:

Manali – Manikaran – Mandi

After breakfast depart from Manali to Mandi enroute visiting Vaishno Temple and Manikaran (Hot water spring, Gurudwara and temple) and Kasol valley. Continue towards Mandi after visiting Manikaran. On arrival check in at hotel. Mandi being of immense religious significance is also known as “Choti Kashi”. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the town and temples of Mandi on your own. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 07:

Mandi – Chandigarh

After breakfast depart from Mandi to Chandigarh. On arrival check in at hotel.  Afternoon proceed for local sightseeing of Chandigarh visiting rock garden which houses sculptures made by using a variety of different discarded waste materials like frames, mudguards, forks, handle bars, metal wires, play marbles, porcelain, auto parts, broken bangles etc. Later visit Sukhna lake which is a beautiful manmade lake that lies in the foothills of Shivalik range. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 08:

Drop Chandigarh airport/ railway station

After breakfast in time drop to Chandigarh airport or railway station for onwards journey. End of our services.
