The Andaman and microbar islands, is a union territory of India including 572 islands of which 37 are occupied. The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the bay of Bengal. These roughly 300 islands are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rainforests. Coral reefs supporting marine life such as sharks and rays make for popular diving and snorkelling sites. Indigenous Andaman islanders inhabit the more remote islands, many of which are off limits to visitors. Best place to visit in Andaman & Nicobar Islands is Havelock island (elephant beach, dive sites & birdlife). Radhanagar beach (tree-lined staple for swimming & diving). Baratang island, mangrove creeks, beaches & a mud volcano, Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park

Port Blair is the gateway to the Virgin Islands. Port Blair, an Island town offering water-based activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, sea-cruises, and glimpses of the history and culture of the region

The islands have a tropical climate. The South-west Monsoon sets in Andaman Nicobar islands towards the end of May and the North-east Monsoon in November. The best time to visit Andaman & Nicobar Islands is between October and May as the weather stays bright and quite pleasant. Monsoons (July to September) are not always recommended as the waves could be unpredictable and specific regions also receive heavy downpours.
