Day 1
Delhi – Shimla
When you arrive at Delhi, you are transferred by our representatives to Shimla. It takes about 8 hrs to get to the destination, which is around 361 kilometers from the resources city. Being the capital city of Himachal Pradesh and as soon as a resources for the British Government, Shimla is a popular destination for honeymooners. It is nestled in the Shivalik Ranges as well as is a magnificent place to see on a honeymoon with sights of the snowcapped Himalayan ranges and also far extending valleys. On reaching this destination, you will check in at the hotel with your beloved and rest for the night.
Day 2
Shimla – Kufri
Let’s explore Shimla today! We see Kufri, also known as the winter sports capital of Shimla. Right here, Explore Indira bungalow Himalayan Zoo (subject to operation). Later, we stroll via the renowned Mall Road of Shimla; we go to Scandal Point, Johnnie’s Wax Museum and Shimla Church at evening. We have a short meet-n-greet session before dinner, to get to know our fellow travelers.
Kufri – Kufri is a small hill station in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh state in India. It is located 20 km from the state capital Shimla on the National Highway No.22. Kufri with NH-22, Shimla district. The name Kufri is derived from the word kufr meaning “lake” in the local language.
Bear in the Kufri zoo – The highest point in the surrounding region, Kufri has a Himalayan wild life zoo which hosts rare antelopes, felines and birds including the Himalayan monal, the state bird of Himachal Pradesh. During winter a meandering path through the potato plantations turns into a popular ski track.
Johnnie’s Wax Museum – A Gurgaon-based company ‘BM Brothers’ has brought new charm to the Queen of Hills as it opened Himachal’s first Wax Museum at the historic Willow Banks estate in capital city Shimla. Johnnie’s Wax Museum opened for public after Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh inaugurated it on May 11, 2016. The museum feature life-size wax statues of popular personalities from various fields, such as Hollywood, Bollywood, Politicians, Sports etc., like Madame Tussauds, London – the most famous wax museum in the world. Presently, Johnnie’s Wax Museum features 16 statues, which are handmade in London.
Christ Church – Shimla, is the second oldest church in North India, after St John’s Church in Meerut. It is a parish in the Diocese of Amritsar in the Church of North India. Its current incumbent is The Rev. Sohan Lal, whose ecclesiastical designation is presbyter-in-charge. Worship is conducted in Hindi and English.
Day 3
Kufri – Manali
Today we visit the renowned Kullu Shawl Factory, where we can buy Kullu shawls and other woolen items. Later on we drive via the beautiful Pandoh Dam and also Kullu Valley, as we head towards our next destination, Manali.
Kullu Shawls – Kullu Shawls are well known all around the world for its simple and elegant designs and its fine woolen fabric and manufacturing quality. Kullu shawls are worn by both: men and women, but men’s shawls are usually called “Loi” or “Pattu” and are often plain without any pattern or very minimal patterned stripes on two edges. Kulu shawls are also crafted in yak’s wool, sheep wool, Pashmina, and other handcrafted material.
Pandoh Dam – Embankment dam on the Beas River in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Under the Beas Project, the dam was completed in 1977 and its primary purpose is hydroelectric power generation. Part of a run-of-the-river power scheme, it diverts the waters of the Beas to the southwest through a 38 km (24 mi) long system of tunnels and channels. The water is used for power generation at the Dehar Power House before being discharged into the Sutlej River, connecting both rivers.
Kullu Valley – Kullu Valley is a broad open valley in Himachal Pradesh, India, formed by the Beas River between Manali and Largi. This valley is famous for its temples, beauty and its majestic hills covered with pine and deodar forest and sprawling apple orchards. The course of the Beas River presents a succession of magnificent, clad with forests of deodar, towering above trees of pine on the lower rocky ridges. Kullu valley is sandwiched between the Pir Panjal, Lower Himalayan and Great Himalayan Ranges.
Day 4
Manali Sightseeing
It’s time to explore the old temples of Manali today. We go to Vashisht Kund– Committed to Vashistha Rishi situated in Vashisht village, across the River Beas. One of the most famous tourist attractions in Manali, the temple is believed to be more than 4000 years old. Later we visit Hidimba Mandir – Ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bhīma (one of the pandavas from the Mahabharata epic). The temple is built around a cave, where legends say Hidimba meditated. After the temple visits, we have free time in the evening for our favorite activity – Shopping!
Vashisht Kund – Vashisht is a small village located around 3 km from Manali across the River Beas. This beautiful village is famous for its sulfurous hot water springs and Vashisht temple, built just next to the springs. The water from this spring is believed to have great healing powers, which can cure many skin diseases and other infections. There are Turkish-style bath houses available here that contain the hot water from the springs, which are used to take bath and enjoy the warmth of the place in privacy. There are separate baths for both men and women, fitted with showers.
Hidimba Devi Temple – Locally known as Dhungiri Temple, also known variously as the Hadimba Temple, is located in Manali, a hill station in the State of Himachal Pradesh in north India. It is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimba Devi, wife of Bhīma, a figure in the Indian epic Mahabharata. The temple is surrounded by a cedar forest called Dhungiri Van Vihar at the foot of the Himalayas. The sanctuary is built over a huge rock jutting out of the ground which was worshiped as an image of the deity. The structure was built in 1553.
Day 5
Manali – Rohtang Snow Point – Manali
A magnificent drive will take us to Rohtang snow point today. We have spare time to play, Enjoy in the snow and click photos to our heart’s content. In the evening we have cultural entertainment in store for us, as we witness the traditional Himachali Folk Dancing.
Rohtang Pass -Is 51 kilometers away from Manali This Pass is not easily accessible for almost 8 months in a year, as it is covered by snow. We generally see the snow point on Rohtang road, which has been allowed by the Border Security Force). Also note: Guests who are willing to take Snow Clothes (Dungaree), these are available in shops. You can rent it at an additional cost on your own. This includes jacket & gumboots.
Himachali Folk Dancing – Himachali dance forms are highly varied and quite complicated. These dances are very vital part of the tribal life. It reflects the culture and the tradition of Himachal. Hardly any festivity here is celebrated without dancing. Some of the dance forms like Nati (dance) are danced all over the region.
Day 6
Manali – Solang Valley – Manali
We come before for a fun journey at Solang Valley today- A remarkable valley between Solang town which provides the view of glaciers and snow-capped mountains. We delight in Ropeway ride below as well as guests also get an opportunity to try enjoyable activity such as paragliding at your own price. Later on free time to relax or room around. Enjoy get together with your travel companions in the evening.
Solang Valley – Derives its name from combination of words Solang (Nearby village) and Nullah (water stream). It is a side valley at the top of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, India 14 km northwest of the resort town Manali on the way to Rohtang Pass, and is known for its summer and winter sport conditions. The sports most commonly offered are parachuting, paragliding, skating and zorbing. Giant slopes of lawn comprise Solang Valley and provide its reputation as a popular ski resort. A few ski agencies offering courses and equipment reside here and operate only during winters.
Manali Ropeway – About 15kms from Manali is Solang Valley which is the hub of winter sports in Himachal Pradesh. Manali Ropeway is the major attraction here as it offers visitors breathtaking views. The majestic ride begins from Solang Valley and ends at Mt. Phatru (3200m).
Day 7
Manali – Chandigarh
Let’s have an enjoyable time River Rafting in the trendy wild water of Beas River (subject to operation). Let’s take a trip even more our next destination Chandigarh- one of the most well planned cities of our country, well known internationally for its style and urban design.
Beas River – Is a river in north India. The river rises in the Himalayas in central Himachal Pradesh, India, and flows for some 470 kilometres (290 mi) to the Sutlej River in the Indian state of Punjab. Its total length is 470 kilometres (290 mi) and its drainage basin is 20,303 square kilometres (7,839 sq mi) large.
River rafting – Manali is one heart-racing adventure that gets thrill-seeking travellers on their toes. Easy and abundant water in the Beas River has made this place a hub for various water adventure activities. Manali river rafting is one adventure excursion for all adrenaline junkies!
Day 8
Chandigarh – Departure To Hometown
We explore Chandigarh city today as we visit Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden– a sculpture garden totally build from industrial waste, scraps, and home waste and also thrown-away items. Our tourconcludes with combined feelings! Happy to have made so many new friends, visited several amazing locationbut alsosad that it means that end of such a wonderful trip. Let’s stay in touch with email, Facebook, mobile and fulfill each various other once again on even more such remarkable trips! This is the last day of the trip. Post breakfast you will certainly be driven to Delhi. This is where your remarkable honeymoon trip comes to an end.
Rock Garden – The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a sculpture garden in Chandigarh, India. It is also known as Nek Chand’s Rock Garden after its founder Nek Chand, a government official who started the garden secretly in his spare time in 1957. Today it is spread over an area of 40 acres (161874.25 m²). It is completely built of industrial and home waste and thrown-away items.It is near Sukhna Lake. It consists of man-made interlinked waterfalls and many other sculptures that have been made of scrap and other kinds of wastes (bottles, glasses, bangles, tiles, ceramic pots, sinks, electrical waste, broken pipes, etc.) which are placed in walled paths.
Sukhna Lake – Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh, India, is a reservoir at the foothills (Shivalik hills) of the Himalayas. This 3 km² rainfed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming down from the Shivalik Hills. Originally the seasonal flow entered the lake directly causing heavy siltation. To check the inflow of silt, 25.42 km² of land was acquired in the catchment area and put under vegetation. In 1974, the Choe was diverted and made to bypass the lake completely, the lake being fed by three siltation pots, minimizing the entry of silt into the lake itself.

At Cochin we took an overnight trip on a houseboat, which was lovely and relaxing after all the hustle and bustle of the cities.
The trip was seamless, with excellent drivers and guides throughout, who went the extra mile to help with any problems that arose or extra requests for things we wanted to do. The hotels were all top quality and we had a brilliant holiday. Would thoroughly recommend Travlogue, and they were a lot cheaper than the UK company we have used before. Based upon the reviews and the price offered by these people we closed the deal.
The trip was well planned and delivered in the way as discussed with one of their trip advisors. We got a local guide who was really very helpful throughout the journey and also was playing the role of interpreter for us. The best part about the trip was the time management which these folks really managed so well that we enjoyed and experienced every moment of our trip whether being at some tea plantation sites or the wild life sanctuaries, the hilly mountains or the local markets, everything was so well and perfectly planned. Being with the family, its bit hectic and hard how to choose, where to go, what to do and many such things, but kudos to the expert guidance and helped from the team of Travlogue for planning out my trip of 9 days and 8 nights exploring around many of the cities of north including Delhi, Rajasthan, UP and Uttarakhand.
